New BMW X1
The BMW X1 has carved out its own niche in the Sports Activity Vehicle segment, bringing the off-road lifestyle to the heart of the city. In 2014 the new X1 will hit the streets, and it comes with a whole host of new features to maintain its position as king of the urban jungle.
Exterior accents have been added to give the X1 a sleeker look, including new air intakes and new 17-inch alloys with a V-spoke design. A stainless steel sill finisher will protect the tailgate in the new model, as well as giving a more premium finish. Customers can also now specify the popular Sparkling Brown Metallic paint.
The interior has come in for an overhaul, too. When customers order the xLine, Sport Line or M Sport packages, the instrument cluster visor will come covered in seamed, soft-touch material to add to the feeling of luxury. Optional interior trims include high-gloss black, Coral Red or pearl-gloss chrome.
iDrive has also come in for serious attention and BMW has added its latest Internet-based services to its arsenal. When customers specify a navigation system with the Connected Drive Services option they can access a whole range of mobility services, which can be activated at any time. The services include Online Entertainment and the ECO PRO analyser, which helps customers drive more efficiently and save money on fuel.
These are subtle tweaks, then, rather than a radical overhaul. But with the X1 being so well received then evolution, rather than revolution, is the way forward with this sales sensation.
